This kadhi prepared with sweet and tarty mango is liked the most in Maharashtra and Gujarat. Serve this tantalizing kadhi with roti and rice.
Wash mango, peel and cut out its pulp. Cut the pulp in big chunks so that they can be ground in mixture grinder easily. Place these mango chunks in mixture grinder, also add curd and gram flour. Whisk until mango pulp is finely ground and curd is mixed well. Now add 3 cup water into it, batter for kadhi is now ready.
Preheat a wok for making kadhi. Add half the amount of oil in the wok. When oil is hot, add half amount of cumin seeds. After sauteing the cumin seeds, add green chilly, red chilly (chopped in two halves), turmeric powder and half the amount of curry leaves. Saute the masala for while. Now add the kadhi batter and stir constantly to cook until it simmers once.
After it simmers once, reduce the flame, add salt and some green coriander. Stir after every 1 to 2 minutes with a ladle. Cook kadhi on low flame for 7 to 8 minutes. kadhi with ripe mango is now ready.
Take out kadhi in a bowl and prepare tadka for it.
Preheat a small pan, add oil. When oil is hot, add cumin seeds. After sauteing cumin seeds add curry leaves and turn off the flame. Also add red chilly powder in the tadka.
Pour this tadka over the kadhi and mix well. Sweet-sour Kadhi with ripe mango is ready. Serve this sweet-tarty kadhi with chapatti, parantha and rice and relish eating.
