chana can be used to make various recipes like cheela, sweets etc. Green chana is available in the market during the season of holi and are tastier than normal quality of chana. My family members are very fond of eating green chana as a evening snack by adding chat masala, salt, boiled potatoes etc into it.
Wash the chana with fresh water.
Cut paneer into square shape and soak them for 5 minutes in luke warm salt water to make the paneer soft. Take it out of the water and put them on a plate. Now heat some oil in a pan and shallow fry the paneer slices till they turn light brown in colour.
Put sesame on a pan and roast till they turn brown. Make a paste of roasted sesame, tomato, ginger, and green chilli.
Heat oil in a pan and put heeng and cumin seeds into it. Let them splutter, then add turmeric powder, coriander powder and tomato paste. Roast the masala well by stirring it continuously with the help of a spoon. Cook the masala until the oil starts to float over the masala. Now put chana and 2-3 table spoon water into the pan and let it cook on a medium flame.
Cook the chana until they become tender and then add paneer slices in it. Mix them well with the spoon. Add salt and red chilli powder into the recipe. Once the recipe starts boiling cook it for another 2-3 minutes. Turn off the flame and put garam masala into the recipe.
Hara chana Paneer Masala recipe is ready. Take it out in a serving bowl and garnish with coriander leaves. Serve the dish with hot chapatis, paranthas, and rice.
We can also use boiled potatoes to make Hara chana Paneer Masala.
If you use onions and garlic in preparing a dish. Then add onions and 4-5 garlics along with tomato, ginger, green chilli and sesame. Make a paste of them and roast the masala in the same way we did in the above given steps.
